Miromar Design Center Studio Trip

Last week our design team took a trip to the Miromar Design Center to attend an overview of the latest trends from the Spring Market Week at High Point and to browse the showrooms for new products and inspiration. We documented some of our favorite items of the day to share! Keep a look out for the latest trends from Market in our next post.

ANGELA: I can spend all day in a fabric library like this one. Textiles are so interesting to me- the different weaving and printing techniques, types of fibers, shades of colors and various patterns. Sometimes my inspiration for an entire home can start from just one fabric!
BlueSofa
SONIKA: This unique geometric sofa at Ligne Roset opens up some really fun opportunities for using combinations of different fabrics! This would be the ultimate piece for a game room, although I can also see it in various textured gray neutral fabrics for a more sophisticated space.
rug
ANGELA: The texture of this shag rug, like little black-and-white striped ribbons, at Casa Italia is really fun up close. It’s a more current and urban spin on a retro classic.
Chair
ANGELA: This little vignette I spotted at the Ralph Lauren showroom just stirred something in my soul- it reminds me of Rothko’s No. 61 “ Rust and Blue” but better. There is so much energy in this little corner. Blue and orange are always such a powerful complimentary color pairing, and here the orange leather is subdued just enough to be chic and sophisticated. The chalky, matte blue paint wash applied to just on the lower portion of the plaster wall brings to my mind the Rothko painting. The washed-out yellow pine floors are a great balance for all this energy and the scales of the patterns are spot on.
Bed
SONIKA: We’ve definitely been crushing on this menswear trend with handsome color schemes and tailored patterns. It’s a sophisticated way of combining contrasting colors and various textures and patterns in such an understated way.
Interior
SONIKA: This area in the Ligne Roset showroom had such an uplifting atmosphere with the pop of coral and I particularly like the way the yellow color in the painting seems to blend the neutral colors in the room with the vibrant chair and small accessories. Also note the relation of pattern in the gray rug and painting. Beautiful!
GrayWhiteSofa
ANGELA: Outdoor sectional seating is so popular and versatile. I love how this modular sofa at Jardin de Ville is broken up with two fabrics. It brings the scale down to be visually more intimate, and this would be a great opportunity to do something really fun and custom with outdoor accent fabrics.
