Melt Dessert Bar and Lounge
Melt is a concept for a new, urban dessert bar and lounge that will feature a full-service bar, exotic coffees, and of course generously portioned desserts perfect for sharing, all in a cozy, sensuous setting amidst live music provided by a nightly rotating schedule of DJs, jazz musicians, guitarists, and vocalists.
Space as Art’s concept design for the interior environment is inspired by some of Melt’s signature dessert creations and ingredients. For example, the restaurant’s “Chocolate booths,” located to the rear of the space, are cozy, circular nooks created by rich, dark woods and light, shimmering screens to provide an intimate, late-night place to gather and enjoy Melt’s chocolate fondue and s’mores sharing plates. In contrast, the lounge area to the front of the space draws its inspiration from Melt’s light, sugar confections translated into the form of supple, white leather and funky, marshmallow-inspired custom light fixtures to provide a sleek and lively spot to interact and enjoy live music.
In 2010, Space as Art was awarded an International Design Award for Melt in the Conceptual Interior Design Category, judged by a panel of leaders, editors, and celebrities in the design field. Read the full story here: Space as Art Wins International Design Award
