Well-selected lighting and plumbing fixtures are the jewelry of the home. At least this is how I view them. So I think naturally the trends we see in jewelry, we’ll also see sometimes picked up in a pendant light or a faucet. (I don’t think this relationship works as well in reverse, though to their credit the marketing minds at Moen have tried the whole faucet-as-necklace look…but I digress) Read more
Pablo and I had an incredible time this week at the HD Americas 2014 hospitality design conference and expo at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The highlight for us was definitely the conference lineup. Hospitality Design magazine assembled a truly fantastic group of speakers and panelists to discuss various topics centered around the hotel, resort, and restaurant design markets in the US and Latin America. After nearly 10 months of work by our team, an intense but fulfilling week of final installation has ended at this complete renovation of our client’s lake house in Chautauqua, New York. Thanks to an incredible team effort, the results are breathtaking.

In order to honor the craftsman style of this existing home while interpreting our design-savvy client’s contemporary-neutral aesthetic, our challenge has been clear: to create a new style which does not yet exist.
This lake house redesign is one of the big projects we are working on currently. The existing home is primarily craftsman style in its architecture and features an abundance of orange-toned Douglas Fir interior trimwork. The solid wood itself is inherently beautiful in its own right, however the strong orange tones are in contrast to our client’s desired style- clean and contemporary with a soft, neutral “greige” palette.
Good News: We’ve moved! And this great view of downtown Sarasota is from our new front door.
Bad News: Our phones are temporarily down while we change carriers and upgrade our phone system to better serve our clients. We expect our new system to be fully operational by Friday, September 6. Between today and Friday we may likely experience a temporary phone outage.
We apologize for any inconvenience and encourage contacting us by email if telephones are not yet cooperating.
More details and photos of the new space will be posted soon!

It was a successful afternoon hunting through the local granite yards for slabs to use on a current design project. We have been searching for just the right stone for weeks, and here it is! It’s Spectacular… no really, that’s what they’ve named it. Can’t argue with that though- these dramatic, bookmatched slabs will look spectacular installed on our project- I can’t wait! Read more

Not surprisingly, predictions about color tend to garner some of the greatest buzz. After all, color impacts everything we do! Pantone, widely recognized as the leading authority on color, forecasts that Emerald Green will be front and center in fashion, interiors, and beauty in 2013: Read more
We recently completed this master bath renovation for a client’s waterfront home on Casey Key. Their existing bath design was feeling bland and its shotgun floor plan wasn’t working for these homeowners. So we reconfigured the layout, removing the existing corner tub in favor of a large, luxurious shower and increased closet space. Since the footprint is narrow, we replaced some solid walls with translucent glass to afford privacy while allowing a sense of openness. Read more
