As we recently announced here on the blog, we are proud to be the recipient of the 2015 ASID South Florida “Design Excellence Award” in a residential interior design category. We are doubly proud to have been awarded a second Design Excellence Award in the category of Commercial Renovation under 5,000 square feet for our complete renovation and design rebranding of Fast N Fresh restaurant at University Town Center.
The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is the oldest, largest, and leading organization representing the interior design profession, and the Florida South chapter is the second largest of the 48 ASID chapters in the nation. The most outstanding interior design achievements among its expansive membership are recognized at the annual Design Excellence Awards, and Space as Art is honored to be a double recipient this year, and to have both our residential and commercial work recognized.
About the award-winning restaurant design:
As the existing interior did not reflect their business concept, our client required a complete renovation and interior design rebranding of their fast-casual restaurant serving sandwiches, salads, and soups. The new design needed to visually convey the fresh, healthy, and on-the-go concept of the restaurant clearly to its patrons.
Functional challenges included maximizing number of seats in a small footprint to accommodate lunchtime rush, while also maintaining comfort and creating flow through the long and narrow space. Priority was placed on green, sustainable materials to further support the owners’ healthy, eco-conscious concept. We are proud of the great results we were able to create for Fast N Fresh, and to be the recipient of this award.
